The following job descriptions contain the initial skills required, and are recruited on a regular basis. As stated, you will be asked to learn more to increase our ability to assign you as needed. Location:  Wolfe Industrial, Inc. shop
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Shop Foreman
Supervises: No direct reports

Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of the process required to chemically prepare metal for painting, how to paint various materials, how to sandblast various types of metals, how to mix chemicals used during the painting process, and how to protect against storm water pollution.  This person may also be responsible for delivering product to job sites and picking up materials as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sandblasting materials as required in both the outside and inside bead blast rooms
  • Painting materials with both the HVLP sprayer and with paint brushes as required.
  • Apply chemicals to metals in order to chemically prepare them for use.
    • Example: Applying Oakite to stainless steel product
  • Change filters on paint booth as required
  • Use the forklift to transport materials as required
  • Move all waste paint and related materials to the storage area within 30 days of accumulation
  • Date all waste containers prior to moving into storage area
  • Document paint and thinner usage daily and monthly
  • Ensure all mandatory respirator maintenance is completed for respirators assigned to individuals in painting department.
  • Ensure that all documentation related to respirator maintenance is completed monthly
  • Complete hazardous waste inventory forms on a monthly basis for both the main collection area and the satellite location.

Other:

  • Remove waste sand blast media and trash from both bead blast rooms, place beads in drum, and place drums in storage area to await disposal
  • Spray down and clean the wash bay at the end of each shift.
  • Rotate pallets in storage area no less than every 30 days
  • Move all waste paint and related materials to the storage area within 30 days of accumulation
  • Date all waste containers prior to moving into storage area
  • General cleaning of back yard and painting area
  • Other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman

The following items will be utilized by the PAINTER and PAINTER HELPER to successfully fulfill the requirements of this position:

Minimum Qualifications:

Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of the process required supply the lead men and their crews with the materials they need to complete the jobs that are assigned to.  This person must be able to identify common tools and equipment, utilize the forklift to load trucks, secure loads for transport, drive company trucks to deliver products when needed, and stock materials upon arrival from suppliers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Stock goods upon receipt
  • Secure loads for transport
  • Utilize the forklift to move materials
  • Drive company trucks
  • Identify common tools and equipment and stock them for future use
  • General cleaning of shipping and receiving area
  • Other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman

Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of safe driving practices and safe loading/unloading techniques that comply with DOT regulations.  In addition, this person must be knowledgeable of the area in which we deliver product to customer sites, be able to effectively communicate with both shop, field and customer personnel and handle himself in a professional manner.

Requirements: DOT Health Card, safe driving history and maintained while employed, ability to sit for extended periods of time, must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload product onto trucks up to 75 lbs. in weight.
  • Ensure that the load is secure prior to driving a company truck.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws concerning the operation of a vehicle at all times while in a company vehicle.
  • Must report all accidents involving company vehicles, regardless of severity, to the police, your supervisor and the Safety Director. 
  • Must report all traffic violations in a company vehicle immediately to your supervisor and the Safety Director.
  • Must verify receipt of all goods prior to signing pick tickets from suppliers.  Related, must verify that all delivery receipts are signed upon delivery of product.
  • When required, must be able to safely communicate with others via a hands-free cell phone while operating the vehicle.Other:
  • Must sign in and out company vehicles before and after use by logging your name, date, the time of use, and purpose of use on the truck log.  Keys are to be returned to the appropriate hanger in the key box.
  • Must ensure that company vehicle is fueled prior to returning it to the fleet parking area.
  • Must remove trash from the interior of the vehicle following each use of a company vehicle.

Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of welding various types and thicknesses of metals and hand tool operation (grinders, drills, etc..) and be knowledgeable about the use of fabrication equipment (shears, brakes, band saws, etc..).  This person may also be responsible for delivering product to job sites and picking up materials as needed.  In addition, this person must be able to effectively communicate with both shop, field and customer personnel and handle himself in a professional manner.

Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, able to sit for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 25 lbs., competent with welding (tig , mig and stick) various types and thicknesses of metals, read a tape measure and understand basic blueprints, able to operate a forklift.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manually load and unload product onto work tables up to 25 lbs. in weight.
  • Operate a forklift
  • Weld with a tig, mig, and stick welder.
  • Use common hand tools for fabrication of product – including power drills, die grinders, hammers, porta-bans, etc…
  • Use shop equipment for fabrication or product – including the shears, press brakes, drill presses, bench grinders, and Do All saws.
  • Safely rig product for lifting purposes while fabricating, testing, etc.

Other:

  • Clean up work area at the end of each shift
  • Stock raw materials as needed

He/she must also be knowledgeable of various rigging techniques used to suspend product. This person must have a strong understanding of mechanical equipment, its components, and how to repair different types of equipment as necessary – particularly with respect to preventative maintenance procedures. This person may also be responsible for delivering product to job sites and picking up materials as needed. In addition, this person must be able to effectively communicate with shop, field and customer personnel and handle himself in a professional manner.

Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, able to sit, stand, and stoop for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, able to climb ladders occasionally, competent with welding (tig , mig and stick) various types and thicknesses of metals, read a tape measure and understand basic blueprints, able to operate a forklift.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manually load and unload product onto and off of various locations up to 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Operate a forklift
  • Weld with a tig, mig, and stick welder.
  • Use common hand tools for fabrication of product – including power drills, die grinders, hammers, porta-bans, etc.

Long hours, including weekends and holidays, should be expected. Exposure to extreme heat and/or cold, vibration, and unclean/slick/greasy working conditions may be expected dependent upon the task at hand. For this reason, extreme care in selecting the appropriate PPE is of the utmost importance.

OJT will supplement current understanding and increased levels are expected with time. In addition, this person must be able to effectively communicate with both shop and field personnel and handle himself in a professional manner. This person may also be responsible for delivering product to job sites and picking up materials as needed.

Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 40 lbs., complete basic math and layout functions, read a tape measure and understand basic blueprints, able to operate basic hand tools, and operate a forklift.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manually load and unload product onto work tables up to 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Operate fabrication equipment quickly, safely, and efficiently – including the lathes, power press, drill press, and band saws.
  • Use common hand tools for fabrication of product – including power drills, die grinders, hammers, band saws, etc.
  • Safely rig product for lifting purposes while fabricating.

Other:

  • Clean up work area at the end of each shift.
  • Stock raw materials as needed.
  • Operate overhead crane.
  • Drive company vehicles.

Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of welding various types and thicknesses of metals and hand tool operation (grinders, drills, etc.). He/she must also be knowledgeable of various rigging techniques used to suspend product. This person must have a strong understanding of mechanical equipment, its components, and how to repair different types of equipment as necessary – particularly with respect to preventative maintenance procedures. This person may also be responsible for delivering product to job sites and picking up materials as needed. In addition, this person must be able to effectively communicate with shop, field and customer personnel and handle himself in a professional manner. As lead person, this person is responsible for completing and transmitting payroll in a timely manner. This person may also be asked to draw and submit plans for projects, up to and including job costing, based upon the given scope of work. Organization skills are a must.

Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of the process required to keep both the shop and the office areas clean and free from clutter.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Clean and buff the office floors.
  • Stock the office refrigerator as needed.
  • Empty all trash, including the shredder, trash cans in the shop, and office trash cans daily, and as needed.
  • Sweep the shop floor daily.
  • Clean the shop bathrooms and sinks daily
  • Clean and sweep the breakroom daily.
  • Clean and sweep the locker room as needed.
  • Remove waste from the trench in the washbay and place it in a barrel for disposal as needed.
  • General cleaning of back yard and employee parking area
  • Utilize forklift to move product
  • Other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman

Other:
